Kolkmeier Farms Natural Beef |
Limousin cattle first came to the United States in the late 1960's from the Limoges Valley of France. Limousin beef is naturally lean and tender, and very flavorful. The beef has a higher muscle (meat) to fat ratio than many breeds, but retains its natural tenderness.
At Kolkmeier Farms Natural Beef, we select our animals for muscle growth and a gentle disposition. Limousin are also very efficient at converting pasture grass into muscle, and so they don't require as much pasture as many other breeds. For more further technical information about the Limousin breed, visit the North American Limousin Foundation at www.nalf.org. Kolkmeier Farms also sells seed stock for breeders. For information about our cattle, contact Jim at the farm at (608) 489-4294 or send an email. |
